Enterprise Cloud Computing

In the early days of computing, mainframe computers provided central data storage and computing resources to hundreds or thousands of employees of large enterprises, with all of the architectural disciplines in place to support scaleable, robust, and reliable solutions that a business could trust.  They were expensive, and the solutions took a long time to develop, but they worked.

Then along came Microsoft and the PC.

Twenty-five years later, but now based on global computing standards from W3C and other open standards organizations, the world is at last moving back to the central mainframe paradigm of computing, but without most of the disadvantages.

This is Enterprise Cloud Computing.
